Barbara "Barbie" Ann Dingmann - Daniel Funeral Home & Cremation Service (2024)

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Barbara “Barbie” Ann Dingmann (Stock), age 64, of Montrose, Minnesota. Barbie passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved husband, several siblings and family. Reverend Kenneth O’Hotto will officiate. Entombment will take place at Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 12, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud; and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the Church.

Barbie was born on April 5, 1959, in St. Cloud Minnesota. She was the 8^th of 12 children born to Wilfred and Agnes (Bloch) Stock. She was persistent in her 20-year battle with three different types of cancer which she handled with grace and courage. She participated in numerous fundraisers to help others, most notably the Susan B. Koman cancer walk and the Eagan Relay for Life.

Barbie is survived by her husband, Mark, brothers and sisters, Sharon (Harold) Ramler of St. Cloud, Carol Ennenga of Fridley, Allan of North Las Vegas, NV, Vernon of St. Cloud, Elaine (Charles) Wagner of Dayton, Ronald (Bonnie) of St. Cloud, Lori (Gary) Brix of Clear Lake, Ralph of Bemidji, and Connie Schwinghammer of St. Cloud, brother and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Wilfred and Agnes Stock, brothers, Roger and Gerald, father-in-law/mother-in-law, Sylvester and Christine Dingmann and nephews Tyler and TJ.

Barbie graduated from Apollo High School in 1978. She went on to study at Willmar Area Vocational Technical Institute. She met her husband Mark at the Trader and Trapper when he asked her to dance. They married on July 3, 1982. With no children of their own, they spent time with their nieces and nephews. Barbie has several Godchildren that were very special to her. She also treasured the 10 years she took care of the neighbor’s children in Eagan. Most recently, the homemade Christmas cards made for her by the neighbor kids in Montrose brought her so much joy!

Barbie enjoyed close to 35 years working in various jobs at the St. Cloud and Minneapolis VA Medical Centers. The Veterans enjoyed her as much as she enjoyed them. After she retired, she kept in touch with them by volunteering at the center.

Anyone that knew Barbie enjoyed her gentle soul. It was easy for her to walk up to people and start a conversation with them, asking them about themselves and their loved ones. She was curious and sincerely interested in all those she met. She loved holidays and attended many celebrations with holiday earrings and light-up necklaces.

Barbie had a deep faith and volunteered by feeding the homeless in Minneapolis, serving coffee to Veterans; and she was especially proud of her participation in a TEC Retreat (Together Encountering Christ #361).

Thank you to all family and friends who have extended their love and support during Barbie’s cancer journey.
